Description

The key goal of the project is to increase the degree of resistance of Polkowice Commune to the increasing climate changes and to combat their deepening. In particular, the project constitutes a response to the issue of high level of air pollution, the so called “urban island of heat effect”, low degree of use of small retention in the commune. Its implementation is also necessary in order to increase ecological awareness of the society through organizing educational-information campaign. 

 

The project anticipates implementing comprehensive investments in the scope of green-blue infrastructure in Polkowice, such as: 

- introduction of green elements in build-up areas: green backyards, 

- building bike routes, 

- revitalizing parks, 

- making green walls, 

-managing rainwater by regulating and restoring the park water system. 

Actions will be supplemented by implementing a campaign, raising society awareness on climate changes. 

 

Project outcome will focus on increasing the degree of resistance of Polkowice to the occurring climate changes and limiting their effects, increasing ecological awareness of the city inhabitants. 

 

Natural environment, all inhabitants of the Polkowice commune, persons visiting the area as well as region’s inhabitants will benefit from the project. Air quality will improve.  

 

Project realization in partnership will allow to obtain added value in the form of cooperation according to consulting principles, exchange of know-how and experiences, enabling implementation of good practices in the project through Partner’s suggesting verified solutions which will be applied in investments realized under the project. Moreover, it will allow to gain experience in realizing international projects, impacting the growth of contacts. It will also promote the project internationally.
