Description
The project will generate results that could not be achieved only in Poland. It will allow the participants to gain specialist knowledge in the field of logistics in a given country, and to collect multicultural experiences, teaching openness and tolerance. Employees will be able to learn about other solutions used in the approach to university and project management, organization of classes and student work.
The project assumes achieving mainly immaterial results, including:
- Professional skills (expanding knowledge on logistics, increasing professional and language competencies)
- Motivation level (increase in motivation to learn, increase in self-confidence),
- Cultural competencies (openness, acceptance, tolerance)
- Personal competencies (increasing the level of self-esteem, self-reliance, acquiring communication skills).
Dissemination target groups: academic community of both universities, local community, partner companies and institutions of both universities.
These results will be disseminated through:
1. tabs dedicated to the project, prepared by the IULT and the HiMolde the on their websites.
2. organizing webinars and in-person seminars, where participants will share their experience.
3. Reports from the mobilities in social media and on the websites (photos, presentations, videos).
4. Presentation of experience from the mobilities during events organized for students (research clubs, student clubs and organizations, meetings with candidates for studies).
5. Sharing experience with administrative staff (developing proposed changes to procedures related to university management, international projects) and academic staff (new aspects related to logistics, new technologies).
6. Providing students with presentations from the lectures.
7. Promotional materials, presentations, newsletters disseminating the results of the project (including participants'' reports).
8. Presentations at conferences, seminars, business meetings.
Summary of project results
The main objective of the project "Mobility in higher education (Component II)" under the Education Program (project no. EOG/21/K2/W/0017) implemented at the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław (IULT) was reducing economic and social differences within the European Economic Area and strengthening bilateral relations between Poland and the Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) - Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics (Norway) - in the area of education. Project activities were intended to strengthen human potential and expand knowledge in the area of logistics in Poland and Norway.
It was assumed that the project would generate results that would not be possible to achieve only in one country, including in the following areas:
- Professional skills (expanding knowledge of logistics, improving professional and language competences),
- Level of motivation (increased motivation to learn, increased confidence in one''s own skills),
- Cultural competences (increasing openness, acceptance, tolerance),
- Personal competences (increasing the level of self-esteem, independence, acquiring communication skills)
In the application it was planned to exchange students (student mobility for the purpose of studying - one person from both Poland and Norway) and staff (employee mobility from the IULT - 3 people, mobility from Molde University College - 2 people). Unfortunately, due to the impact of the pandemic and the reorganization of project teams on both sides (Poland and Norway), only employee mobilities were implemented. When an annex to the partnership agreement was developed, it was taken into account to increase the number of staff mobilities from 3 to 5. Unfortunately, due to differences in the duration of the academic year and the period of employee recruitment, MWSLiT, together with its partner, decided to maintain the initial number of mobilities from Poland to Norway, extending their duration, and to reduce the number of mobilities from Norway to Poland, extending its duration. In this way, budget transfers from the student mobility part were not necessary. Two teaching staff from the IULT took part in the mobility, who, among other things, conducted classes with students at the partner university and also met with representatives of the teaching and research staff of this university in order to exchange experiences, talk about potential joint projects and other activities. Additionally, one IULT employee responsible for coordinating international projects took part in the mobility, which allowed for the exchange of experience in this area between specialists from both universities, and also allowed for learning the methodology of project management, implementation practices as well as formalities and requirements related to coordination and financial management of the projects in Norway.
From Molde University College, one teaching employee took part in the mobility, meeting at our university with teaching staff and the Dean and Vice-Deans, which allowed for a better understanding of the similarities and differences in the functioning of universities in both countries, and also gave the opportunity to learn about research areas and trends technological technologies in the logistics of the future, which are of key importance for both partner universities.
Thanks to the implementation of these mobilities, it was possible to achieve the results planned in the project: expanding knowledge in the area of logistics, improving professional and language competences, increasing the level of motivation, increasing openness, acceptance, tolerance for cultural differences and increasing personal competences, including communication skills. An unintended result of the project was to enable the implementation of joint teaching, research and development projects and other activities in the field of artificial intelligence and its use in logistics and transport, which is an important direction of development for both universities.
The results achieved in the project also benefited the final beneficiaries, improving the understanding of the challenges and trends in future logistics, especially in the areas of the use of new technologies and eco-related trends, which are extremely important in both partner countries.
Taking into account the defined areas enabling further cooperation and the initiated talks and arrangements regarding the implementation of joint projects and possible joint publications, the results achieved in the project and its implementation itself had a significant and long-term impact on both indirect beneficiaries and final beneficiaries. The opportunity to contact students and employees from Norway was of great importance, not only thanks to the opportunity to share knowledge and practice from Poland with them, but also because it allowed us to set further challenges for both universities and find potential partners for future projects.
Summary of bilateral results
Cooperation with the Norwegian partner Molde University College was very good from the very beginning, despite the delay in the start of the project and changes in the composition of the project team on both sides (the IULT and partners). The project team from Molde University College was flexible and open to cooperation, understanding the difficulties and challenges regarding the impact of lifting pandemic restrictions, difficulties related to the situation in Ukraine, and the impossibility of extending the project duration. The entire team was involved and supported all actions taken to minimize the risk related to the challenges arising during the project, the situation in Ukraine, which could raise concerns regarding the safety of stay in Poland, as well as project activities related to the promotion of the project, the fruitful implementation of mobilities and the dissemination of project results . To sum up, the partners'' commitment was beyond doubt and was sufficient to complete the project.Additionally, employees of the partner university eagerly shared their knowledge and experience in the area of logistics, teaching and functioning of universities in their country, implementation of international projects and the perception and impact of cultural differences on international cooperation, in particular on cooperation with Poland and the IULT.
