Description

The project concerns a 5-day training by experts from Iceland and Norway for 10 employees of the Fuga Mundi Foundation in the field of improving methods of supporting disabled people in their educational and professional development. Designated trainers are specialists in their field with extensive education and several years of experience in the consulting and training industry. The participants of the training are a team of qualified employees who have theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of supporting clients with disabilities, who approach each person holistically, but also encounter difficulties. Therefore, getting to know Norwegian and Icelandic perspectives on the area of daily activities will allow for the development of staff and providing more effective support in the process of social inclusion of people with disabilities. Intensive training will include learning good practices in the field of in-depth diagnosis of clients'' potential, building a support path, coaching, mentoring, as well as ways to motivate development, including vocational training. The topics of communication, conflict resolution (and preventing them) and methods of working with a group will be discussed. In addition, specialists from Iceland and Norway will show ways to overcome stereotypes related to disabilities, still functioning in society and among employers, the role of cultural and social differences and ways of managing them. Experts from the Center for Continuing Education in Iceland will present the methodology of conducting vocational training in remote mode, taking into account the operation of the Zoom and Microsoft Teams applications and the process of implementing clients for remote activation. Finally, methods of establishing cooperation with labor market entities through networking and mediation between employers and clients will be presented.

Summary of project results

Intensive training was organized for 10 employees of the Fuga Mundi Foundation and was conducted by experts from Norway and Iceland. The training concerned the improvement of methods of supporting people with disabilities in their educational and professional development. Before the training, two remote meetings were held for all three institutions to clarify the Intensive Training program on the basis of previous project arrangements and to confirm the dates of the training. Recruitment for training was organized in accordance with the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination. Various forms were used, such as: mini-lectures, thematic workshops, discussions, case studies as well as group and individual exercises. The participants of the training completed two competence tests, one before the training and the other after the training. After the training, an evaluation questionnaire was conducted regarding the participants'' satisfaction level. All participants of the training obtained a positive result of the competence test and received a certificate confirming the completion of the training.
