More information
Description
The purpose of the project is to implement the manufacture of the new product, AdBlue® EVO. The new product is a next-generation, premium-class, high-purity, synthetic 32.5% solution of urea in demineralised/deionised water developed by CrossChem, with an added mixture of surfactants intended to boost the efficiency of eliminating nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gases of vehicles. As part of the project, it is planned to buy new production machinery and to set up a laboratory. Every batch of the product made requires laboratory testing to confirm that every unit produced complies with the strict requirements for compliance. The new product AdBlue® EVO will have a significantly reduced environmental impact throughout its entire lifecycle.
Environment impact:
- selection and use of resources (laboratory tests will no longer be required to transport to Germany and other laboratories). The result is a saving of 71.91 tonnes of CO2 per year;
- in the production process. The total savings from the purchase of new production facilities result in 6,879 tonnes of CO2 savings per year;
- during use, as well as when the material enters the waste stream, the CO2 savings are 146.76 CO2 t per year.
- The total reduction of CO2 emissions from the introduction of new products in production is 225.71 t CO2 per year.
Summary of project results
No significant challenges were faced during the implementation of the Project.
The following and outputs were realized during the Project:
- understanding material trends in sustainability;
- understanding of main customers and their markets;
- evaluating of material choices;
- preparing of the inspirational report in English.
The following activities were implemented within the Project:
- purchase of production line, electric forklifts and laboratory;
- 2 (two) informative events about the Project and the support program as a whole were held;
- preparing and development of the new product;
- cooperation with the Project Partner – Norwegian company Produkt og Produksjonsutvikling AS – was successfully implemented.
These activities and products were important because they helped to reach the aim of the Project and they gave a chance to the end beneficiaries to get a new product at the end of the Project.
All the Project results were achieved - at least 30% (thirty per cent) of the new product is planned to be exported to large-scale markets in the European Union – to countries such as Greece, Finland and Malta, – as well as outside the European Union – to countries such as Iceland, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco. Planned CO2 emission reduction reached 225,71 tonnes/year, and reduced energy consumption 54 MWh/year. New jobs created 4 (four).
The Project achieved its results, was successful and has the expected long-term impact. It matters that it achieved its results and was successful because into production was put a new product and it has a positive impact to the end beneficiaries.
AdBlue® EVO is a product with a high added value and thus increases the productivity of the Project Implementer`s (CrossChem) company. As part of the introduction of the new product, the impact on the environment will be significantly reduced throughout the life cycle of the new product.
By implementing the Project, the Project Implementer (CrossChem) will be able to introduce a new product into production, to refuse the outsourcing of laboratory tests, which until now were carried out in Germany (samples of each produced batch were sent to the German laboratory for approval).
In the long term, the Project will allow progress towards the achievement of goals – becoming one of the leading European companies in its sector and competing with such companies as, for example, YARA International ASA, whose turnover is approximately 10 billion euros.
The Project is a “good practice” project because it has contributed to significant changes for the end beneficiaries. Innovative methods also have been used during the Project.
Summary of bilateral results
The Project was succesfully implemented with the Project Partner (Norwegian company Produkt og Produksjonsutvikling AS). Partner provided knowledge transfer activities that were necessary and useful for the introduction of a new product and technology in production and development.
