#REINVENT is not just a manifesto of bilateral cultural collaboration, but a complex initiative with a significant role for long-term social innovation. #REINVENT core assumption is that young people are more interested in activities involving the digital environment. #REINVENT tackles a twofold requirement: to build up theater as a multidisciplinary interactive platform aiming to prepare youth for active life, while adjusting its specific mechanisms to the challenges of the digital stage. #REINVENT develops three main work-streams symmetrically addressing the three specific objectives: innovative theatrical productions for audience development and loyalty; building professional skills of specialized staff in order to reduce current gaps between drama productions and other entertainment sectors; raising public awareness of the importance of education through theater, as well as on the benefits of new technologies fostering increased access to quality art and multicultural dialogue. Core activities are: innovative theatric productions through Romanian-Norwegian cultural dialogue and capacity strengthening for professionals active in the cultural field. #REINVENT sets out to generate 6 theater productions with innovative interpretations of the cultural heritage, of which 3 in a live digital format as a response to the current challenges brought by the covid-19 pandemic. The Romanian-Norwegian partnership created inside the project shall generate multiplication effects on a medium and long term, building a sustainable cooperation framework for new cultural and artistic exchanges between the two states
Summary of project results
REINVENT tackled a twofold requirement: to build up theater as a multidisciplinary interactive platform aiming to prepare youth for active life, while adjusting its specific mechanisms to the challenges of the digital stage.
The project core activities included the development of innovative theater productions through Romanian-Norwegian cultural dialogue and capacity strengthening for professionals active in the cultural field. The Romanian-Norwegian partnership created through the project generated spill-over effects in the medium and long term, consolidating a sustainable framework of collaboration and cultural-artistic exchanges between the two states.
The project results consisted in 6 Contemporary art activities, 21 jobs created, 3 productions related to social, ethnic and cultural minorities, other than the Roma minority, 6 Innovative approaches related to cultural heritage, 20 professionals with skills/expertise developed on the job. The cultural activities organized through the project were attended by 1696 participants.
Summary of bilateral results
One of the strengths of the project was the presentation in Norway of the 3 innovative productions made on stage. The action was a great success, the partnership and the public participating in a quality cultural exchange, networking in the area of extremely valuable cultural entrepreneurship, generating new opportunities for bilateral collaboration between Romania and the Donor States-Norway. After the completion of REINVENT, bilateral collaboration networks were opened in the cultural and artistic field that will contribute to experience exchanges and the creation of future opportunities (festivals, collaborative productions, cultural marketing, etc.).
