Description

The "Cultural Transfusion" project is located in the field of cultural education and will be implemented jointly by two non-governmental organizations from Poland and Norway working very actively for the participation of young people ((mainly in Poland, but also abroad thanks to English-language materials).
Main project goals improving the quality of youth education by incorporating new technologies and methods in teaching humanities (contexts, interdisciplinary education) and improving adult participation in lifelong learning, including the professional development of teachers and educators in period  II.2022-I.2024.
As part of the project, it was planned to jointly develop 4 complementary results of intellectual work: IO1 - Cultural education after the pandemic - diagnosis of needs, IO2 - Humanistic contextual education, IO3 - A set of creative tasks, IO4 - Cultural education good practices and the organization of 2 dissemination events  (conference and workshops).
The recipients of the project activities will be teachers, educators, animators, social and cultural animators, people working in educational institutions, culture managers as well as young people. They will take everyone in the diagnosis of needs (IO1), which will determine the shape of the remaining results of intellectual work (IO2, IO3, IO4) and dissemination events.
Digital, open access to all project results will allow them to be widely used not only by the above-mentioned audiences, but also by other groups interested in good practice in cultural education. The multi-faceted nature of the intellectual results created under the project guarantees a large impact on various recipients, and thus also the durability of the results. The undertaking develops intersectoral cooperation (education sector, cultural sector, third sector).
The project will be created within the framework of the international partnership and will be implemented in accordance with the PCM methodology.

Summary of project results

The main objective of the project was to enhance the quality of youth education by creating materials and inspirations for pedagogical innovation in teaching humanities subjects, establishing a platform with modules, tasks, and best practices on contextual humanities education (further referred to as HEC). In contrast to the teaching of STEM subjects, humanities education has thus far lacked specific interdisciplinary solutions and proposals that would be based on leveraging the potential of context.

. The project results facilitated the creation of necessary materials for HEC based on the needs disclosed by teachers and educators. Additionally, the project contributed to improving the participation rates of adults in lifelong learning processes, with particular emphasis on the professional development of teachers and educators by popularizing the project results among this professional group (indirect beneficiaries). The project also stimulated artistic activity in young people (end beneficiaries) and increased their cultural and social competencies.
Within the project, three complementary products were developed to implement HEC in formal and informal education:
O1 - Repository for teachers and educators in the field of HEC, containing 16 thematic modules (along with scenarios and worksheets); O2- Set of creative tasks for students in the form of mental games -16 games; O3 -1 publication on Humanistic Cultural Education - good practices of HEC along with a synthesis of the publication''s content in the form of a brochure. All results in online format (freely accessible and under an open license) are available on the project website https://kulturalnatransfuzja.pl/ The products were disseminated during events: conferences (with 70 participants), workshops (2 workshops with 20 participants each), and as part of the communication plan.

The main project outcomes include:
• Improving the quality and relevance of education at all levels and forms through the increase in knowledge of project beneficiaries (teachers, educators, animators, parents) in the field of HEC – acquainting them with the project results (O1, O2, O3)
• Increasing collaboration between partners from Poland and Norway to improve the quality and adaptation of educational offerings through the development and updating of the Polish educational offer with the idea of HEC.
In the long term, the project will also contribute to enhancing the quality of youth education in teaching humanities subjects.

Summary of bilateral results

The Norwegian experiences influenced the work culture of the Polish partner and enhanced contextual and psychoeducational awareness in the implementation of project tasks. Throughout the project implementation, the team also benefited from the Norwegian partner''s experiences related to working with youth in the spirit of inclusive and participatory education. The project meetings in Oslo were particularly valuable in this regard, providing the opportunity to learn about education in Norway. Collaborating on joint project activities was a fascinating experience for the consortium members. For the team members of the Agere Aude Foundation for Knowledge and Social Dialogue, it was also their first encounter with the Norwegian cultural education system. Members of the Polish foundation team expanded and strengthened their language skills and gained experience related to working in an international environment. The two-year implementation of joint activities has led to an improvement in knowledge and understanding of various perspectives on youth education. Further collaboration is planned for the implementation of subsequent projects and initiatives. The project has contributed to reducing economic and social disparities within the European Economic Area and strengthening bilateral relations between Poland and Norway.
