Description

Skuodas District Municipality Administration together with partners Skuodas Family Social Services Center and Public Institution "Training for Society and Personnel" will implement and develop the model of welfare consultants in the municipality. The aim of the project is to strengthen mental health and reduce health inequalities in the territory of Skuodas district municipality. The project will benefit 270 residents of Skuodas (adults aged  from18 and children aged from 16 to 18) who have mild symptoms of stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression and psychological adaptation problems. To achieve the goal of the project, the following tasks have been set: 1. Installation of a workplace for a welfare consultant (repair of premises, purchase of furniture, equipment). 2. Increasing the attractiveness of welfare counseling services at the inter-institutional level of the municipality; 3.Welfare consultant provision of services to the project target group ; 4. Social campaign to attract the target group. The project will run a publicity campaign to create positive public feedback about the services of welfare consultants and their potential benefits to human mental health.
The implementation of the project will significantly contribute achievement one of the national strategic goals of health care also improving public health and unambiguously corresponds to the mission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania 2021-2023 strategic action plan.

Summary of project results

The project „Implementation of the of welfare consultants’ model in Skuodas district municipality" was looking for a public consultant for the following topical issues: taking care of the public''s mental health and good emotional well-being, a health disease such as depression, improvement and reduction of improvement disparities in the municipality of Skuodas district. The main goal of the project was achieved - to create a model of well-being consultants that would contribute to improving the health and social well-being of the residents of the Skuodas district municipality.

The project carried out activities and achieved the following results:

- 4 publicity events (contests) were organized, in which 112 participants took part.

- The created website and Instagram account of the Welfare Consultant constantly provide and update information about the activities of the Welfare Consultant

- A modern well-being consultant''s office is equipped.

- Purchased furniture and computer equipment for the welfare consultant''s office.

- Organize 60 hours duration of the Applicant''s, partners'' and cooperating institutions'' employees'' seminars, in which 39 employees participated.

- Arrange 48 hours duration Training of employees and representatives of communities, in which 39 employees participated.

- 2 Wellbeing Counselors trained to provide low intensity emotional counseling services.

- 342 residents of Skuodas district municipality received low-intensity emotional counseling services. The emotional health of these residents has improved and the level of satisfaction with the services provided has been achieved.

- Organized publicity of the activities of the welfare consultant: prepared 5 articles in the regional press, prepared 2 newspapers of the welfare consultant, created 1 video clip, created 21 educational posters of the welfare consultant, purchased advertising paraphernalia, which was distributed to residents during publicity events.

342 residents of Skuodas district municipality received direct benefits. Indirect benefit was received by the Social Services Center of the Skudos District Municipality, as the well-being consultant''s office established there improved the infrastructure of this institution. Family members of those who received the services of a well-being counselor also benefited indirectly, as their loved ones'' problems were solved or alleviated, and their emotional state improved.
