Description
One of our specialisations are land reclamation services provided on post-industrial sites or areas in need of reclamation due to contamination or misuse. As a result of the project we will implement our own innovative solution which is to apply modifiers and compost the green waste generated directly on the reclaimed land, as well as automate our services thanks to the purchase of new equipment. The services will be rendered more efficiently and faster (acceleration of the reclamation process from 1.5-3 growing seasons to 1), and we will be able to serve more customers and offer services at lower price compared to services available on the market (by about 40%). Market research indicates that such a way of providing services is expected by our current and potential customers in the Lubelskie Voivodship - public service utilities, construction companies and other enterprises.
We will commission an R&D unit to develop the new reclamation method according to our idea, including the soil additives and the way of working, and then mobile assets will be acquired to automate the service (tractor, milling machine, grader, mower, transport trailer, construction trailer). These investments will contribute to the environmental outcome of the project which will reduce CO2 emissions by 39.6 tons by reducing fuel demand.
The project includes cooperation with a Norwegian partner, Boost Global Innovation AS. The partner will provide mentoring services in the key areas of business development: implementation of pro-environmental innovations and defining new directions of development, and in the area of marketing (building the image of the company as an entity that cares for the environment).
Summary of project results
The project was designed to solve problems related to the reclamation and restoration to use of degraded land and the development of uncultivated agricultural land. Through the introduction of modern machinery and equipment, there was a reduction in ON fuel consumption, which translates into lower CO2 emissions. The introduction of the developed technology shortened the time of the works carried out to one vegetation season. Thanks to the innovation introduced, the company''s competitiveness on the market has increased and the range of services provided has been expanded.
As part of the project, an innovative land reclamation technology was developed. Thanks to the innovation, a modern reclamation service has been implemented, allowing for the complete mechanization of the process, shortening the execution time to one growing season and reducing CO2 emissions. Due to the composting of the resulting green waste on the reclaimed land, transportation has been significantly reduced, which in urban areas has contributed to a reduction in CO2 emissions and improved the comfort of residents.
Thanks to the implementation of the project, the Applicant has increased its machinery, implemented new solutions in its operations, reduced the negative impact of its activities on the environment by reducing CO2 emissions, and employment has been increased. Thanks to the introduced innovation, revenues and competitiveness have significantly increased. Thanks to the established cooperation with the University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska Lublin and RZD Jastkow, there was a transfer of knowledge and exchange of experience between science and business. The reclamation of degraded and abandoned land will allow to restore it for the business and farming community and allow to improve the aesthetics of the area. The environmental awareness of service recipients and contractors has also been raised.
Summary of bilateral results
Thanks to the cooperation with the partner, mentoring services were provided in the key area of business development, i.e. implementation of pro-environmental innovations and definition of new development directions, as well as marketing. The mentor supported the applicant on an ongoing basis and shared his knowledge and experience. As part of the cooperation, we received assistance in hiring and training employees, as well as help in creating a new image for the company as an innovative and pro-environmental enterprise. Further cooperation related to the business and new orders. It is planned that the Lublin City Government will implement a project for the reclamation of the Bystrzyca River valley, including the preparation of recreational areas in the valley. Thanks to the established contacts, I plan to take advantage of Mentor''s knowledge and experience in this area.
