Description

Reducing energy consumption in the construction sector is essential for adapting and mitigating climate change. In the EU, buildings are responsible for +40% of the overall energy consumption and about 36% of CO2 emissions. Almost 35% of EU buildings are built with low energy demand, and around 75% of all buildings are energy inefficient. The aim of the bilateral initiative is to develop a harmonised database and guidelines to systematize relevant criteria for thermal insulation solutions on existing buildings retrofitting and/or for new constructions.
