Description
The main objective of the project is to obtain a cost reduction of electrical device manufacturing using renewable and reduction of CO2 emissions. The project could create an incentive effect for similar measures by other businesses operating into the same community.
The technical solution proposed includes developing 7 new small-scale photovoltaic plants with storage interconnected to serve the local energy system. The installations will be located on the roofs of two of the company''s buildings and a new car-parking shed will be constructed for another PV installation in the production facility yard. The total area of the PV panels is 823,8 m2.
Expected outcomes of the project includes 153,713 MWh/year estimated annual production of energy and estimated reduction in CO2 emissions by 47,7 tonnes.
The project will be implemented in partnership with the Norwegian university Østfold University College and the Norwegian company Nxtech. The university and Nxtech will perform various activities like integrate 3 different electrical system under one EMS, transfer technical know-how and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Romania and Norway.
Summary of project results
The main problems of the Project Promoter were the high dependency on the conventional sources, the high cost of electricity for the company and the high CO2 emissions associated with the consumed electricity.
The project consisted in implementation of a photovoltaic system placed on buildings roofs, with a total realized installed capacity of 0,131 MWp. A Smart Energy Management System enables the Promoter to have higher consumption of the green electricity produced on site, ensuring thus an even higher reduction of CO2 emissions.
Outcome indicators:
- Estimated annual CO2 emissions reductions (in tonnes CO2 eq./year): 47,04 tonnes of CO2eq/year,
- Electric energy produced from other renewable sources- solar (in MWh/year): 153,713 MWh/year.
Output indicators:
- Number of new or refurbished installations for production of energy/electricity from other RES: 12 new PV installations,
- Installed capacity for production of energy/electricity from other RES: 129.44 kW.
The proposed photovoltaic system will contribute to decreasing the dependency on conventional sources by locally producing green energy which will be used for own consumption. The implementation of renewable energy will allow the company to decrease its annual CO2 emissions with estimated 47 tonnes of CO2 eq. per year.
Summary of bilateral results
Within the project partnership, the Norwegian Partner 1, HIOF, delivered the scientific and technical report "Models and methods for increasing PV usage absorption and optimization, energy efficiency solutions and products eco-design". Partner 2 (NxTech) was no longer paid in the project , although some meetings were organized. It was Partner 1 (HIOF) and subcontractors who carried out these project activities - i.e. consultancy services under activity 1.6 - integration under one Energy Management System.
