Description
Project aims to develop prototype of mobile, fast charging station with electrical storage capacity for the areas with weak or limited power grid infrastructure. Mobile battery buffered charging station (further ePitStop) works as rechargeable electric storage. Mobile means transportable, heavy (about 300 kg) metal covered rack type cabinet on rolls/wheels. The ePitStop will be a mobile fast charger with built-in battery storage, a combination that provides great financial savings and unprecedented flexibility. It powers up through a regular power supply and then uses the battery as a storage buffer to fast charge electric vehicles (EV).
Another developed product - the bus stop pavilion from solar modules with integrated charging station addresses common issues in densely populated cities in the general area of both small electric vehicles and mobile energy availability. The commercialization of the developed products will be particularly wide and it will be used in both public and private sectors
The project relies on the merge of competencies of business and research. The Applicant and SINTEF have been cooperating so far with SINTEF contributing to development of Applicant’s technologies applied in manufacturing, in particular photovoltaic modules technologies. In this project, the partner from Norway will not only be responsible for testing the product in Northern climate conditions but also researching recycling possibilities of the prototype which is planned to be developed during project implementation.
Summary of project results
The market for renewable electricity and electric vehicles is constantly growing, which requires convenient and innovative solutions. The need for new solutions is also increased by the tightening of environmental standards and measures for the green transformation implemented by the state. Project aimed to facilitate the daily life of those who drive electric cars – the solution being developed will allow you to charge them autonomously and comfortably.
During the implementation of this project, 4 prototypes were created (a prototype of a light photovoltaic module, a prototype of a folding on the basis of a light photovoltaic module, a prototype of a mobile electric vehicle charging station, a prototype of a new generation autonomous bus stop (pavilion)) and tested in real conditions. Solutions of the created products could also be after their service life.
Implementation of innovative technologies for energy generation and storage systems were created which contribute to the more efficient use of renewable electricity in the public and private transport sectors.
Summary of bilateral results
Strong partnership with SINTEF lead to the creation and commercialization of new products.
