Description

The idea of the project is to get to know the other school of the same type and to establish a long-term VET partnership. The project is intended as the first stage of long-term cooperation between Czech and Icelandic schools. Both schools educate students in the field of “Automotive”. The aim of the project is to implement activities for students and school staff to improve their knowledge, skills and competences. Five students and three teachers from each school will participate in study visits and job shadowing aiming at development and improvement of their learning outcomes. The mobility will help them to acquire new knowledge and skills for their personal and professional life as well as for their further learning. The project responds to the real needs of students and staff and it combines the development of both soft and hard skills.

Summary of project results

The basic idea of the project was to get to know other school of the same type and focus and to establish long-term VET partnership. Both schools Střední průmyslová škola a Obchodní akademie Bruntál and the Borgarholtsskóli educate students in the field of "Automotive". The cooperation aimed to support attractiveness and increase the quality of vocational education of students and employees of participating schools.

Five students from Reykjavík visited Bruntál in May 2022 and five students from Bruntál visited Reykjavík in October 2022. Students attended classes (vocational education and training) during their staying abroad.
Also, staff mobility allowed sharing experience; teachers discussed and analysed examples of good practice, they got inspiration and new ideas for their work.

Both students and teachers gained unique foreign experience in the field of study/teaching, they practice their ability to work in international team, practice their English, meet new people and got to know a foreign culture.

Summary of bilateral results

Schools gained experience with international cooperation and established contact with foreign educational institutions with the perspective of long-term cooperation. The established cooperation will be deepened. Project partners will keep in touch also after end of the project. We expect future cooperation under Erasmus+ programme.
