Description
The project is based on the previous successful implementation of the EEA Grants mobility project. EEA mobility grants'' project represents a chance for Tomas Bata Univeristy in Zlin to become a more visible partner in Norway. Participation in the EEA Grants is a prestigious issue which, as we hope, will improve the quality of the partnership, awareness of both partner universities abroad and their position in world rankings. We also consider this opportunity a manifestation of our support to Volda University College and a tool for expanding student mobility options. There is no doubt that the EEA grants represent an interesting opportunity for the overall development of internationalization at both partner universities. We plan to support 4 talented, outgoing students of animation and languages and 1 talented incoming student of animation to undergo one-semester stays. Participants will be able to experience a different culture and learn to be responsible for themselves. They will be exposed to different teaching methods and learning environment and they will improve their language and social competences and skills. These mobilities should increase the competitiveness of our graduates on modern labour markets. It is supposed that our students will, after their graduation, work not only in their regions but also outside the region and eventually, elsewhere in Europe and the world.
Summary of project results
Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU) has been cooperating with Volda University College (VUC) since 2006. Until now, we have exchanged more than 100 students and staff. Therefore, we consider this partnership as one of the strongest in our portfolio. TBU cooperates with VUC within Languages and Philology Sciences (English), Arts and Journalism. Erasmus+ is the cornerstone of mutual mobility partnership. Participation in EEA grants is a prestigious issue which, as we believe, has improved the quality of the partnership, awareness of TBU abroad and the position of the university in world rankings. Volda University College has proven itself as very attractive destination for our students and staff. Since 2006 we have nominated more than 60 students of animation and 30 students of languages to the mentioned university. However, numbers might have been much better as cost of living in Norway is extremely high (at least for Czech students). Generous financial support was one of the main reasons why TBU applied for EEA grants. The other goal was to streghten mutual cooperation. TBU supported 4 talented outgoing students of animation and languages for one-semester stay at VUC and 1 incoming student from VUC to TBU. These mobilities increased the competitivness of TBU and VUC graduates on modern labour markets. It is supposed that TBU and VUC students will, after their graduation, work not only in their regions, but also outside the region within the framework of the whole Czech Republic and Norway - and eventually, elsewhere in Europe and the world.
Summary of bilateral results
Strengthening of our mutual relationship was one of the main goals of this project. Students of Animation (at both institutions) participated in an animation project related to the animation industry. It was mainly related to advertising film and music video. Mentioned projects help to improve and strengthen cooperation, and such outputs were presented on seminars, workshops, exhibitions etc. Bilateral collaboration will continue according to our internationalisation strategy. We consider each other as strategic partners.
