Summary of the results

The organization of an international conference in Bucharest, on 14-15.11.2018, for 104 European and international professionals in the field of gender based and domestic violence (GBDV) including Romanian, Norwegian, Spanish, etc. and representatives of relevant EU and international institutions allowed for best practice sharing, especially the Spanish experience, and increasing the knowledge of said specialists on theoretical and practical aspects regarding the coordinating and individualized response for victims of domestic violence (DV) and gender based violence (GBV). Also the 63 GBDV specialists of EEA/Norway Grants donor and beneficiary states attending the SYNERGY Network meeting organised on.15.11.2018 exchanged good practice as cooperating parties under the grants, on the effective responses on integral assistance for the victims of DV and GBV, thus contributing to improving standard due diligence, encouraging states to prevent violence against women and domestic violence, initiate cross sectorial policies and partnerships and transfer of know how in the DGBV field. A compendium with all good practice models presented in the Conference and the SYNERGY meeting was elaborated and distributed electronically to all the participants to the events. The initiative can be considered best practice as it builds on the Spanish model for ensuring a coordinated response on gender-based violence resulted from a project financed under the previous EEA Financial Mechanism.
