Description
The vocational training project builds on our cooperation with our Norwegian partner and at the same time looks for new topics and ways of joint work. The aim of the project is to support business competencies of students of the Business Academy in Teplice. Three Czech teachers will participate in internships in Norway and, by attending theoretical and practical lessons, they will get innovative ideas they will share with their Czech colleagues once they return home. There will also be five courses for all the students of the Business Academy which will develop their independent and critical thinking in the field of entrepreneurship. Two discussions with successful businessmen will be organised.
Moreover, a training app offering a set of tasks and exercises in the field of accounting will be developed. It will be used by the students in the following years.
The applicant ´s school is attended by more than 100 pupils from different cultural backgrounds (apart from the Roma pupils, more than a half of them are members of Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Napalese and other national minorities). Involving these groups in school projects has been a fundamental vision of our organization.
Summary of project results
The project aimed to enhance the business competencies of students at the Business Academy in Teplice by equipping them with practical skills and experiences essential for succeeding in a competitive labour market, enabling them to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business scenarios.
Three teachers of economic subjects participated in a five-day study stay. Each day, they focused on a specific topic related to entrepreneurial competencies and their development. After returning from Norway, the teachers integrated their newly acquired knowledge into their teaching methods.
As part of the project, five blocks of entrepreneurial competency training were developed for different grade levels. These blocks enabled students at the Business Academy to acquire and build entrepreneurial skills progressively. A comprehensive manual was created to facilitate the teaching of entrepreneurial competencies across all study years. This manual covered fundamental topics for first-year students, such as creating a SWOT analysis, and advanced topics for higher years, including designing a company logo, addressing marketing challenges, and working with tools like Canva.
By the end of the project, over 200 students had completed the training, significantly enhancing their entrepreneurial skills. According to individual student reports, the most valuable aspect was the opportunity to work in teams, which improved their communication, task delegation, and collaboration abilities. The project also fostered connections among students from different year groups, making the activities both educational and engaging.
Students particularly enjoyed creating and presenting company projects. They appreciated the opportunity to refine work done in earlier grades and deliver final presentations. Many highlighted the value of hands-on experiences, which not only reinforced their theoretical knowledge but also developed practical skills in teamwork, business planning, and public speaking. These competencies are essential for successful business careers and are highly sought after in the labour market
Summary of bilateral results
The partner school inspired us in the fact that the education of individual professional subjects can form one logical unit with the common goal of preparing students for an independent entrepreneurial career. We will continue to be in contact with the partner school through e-mail communication and we will share professional experience with each other.
