Summary of project results
The project “Along with Time” was designed to address several critical issues at the Center Dardedze, particularly the need for effective public and professional education on child safety and violence prevention. Although the organization established itself as a reliable support point for child protection, the division of information across multiple websites, such as paligsvecakiem.lv and bernskacietusais.lv, including separate resources for parents and specialists, hindered the quality maintenance and dissemination of resources to target audiences. This fragmentation created a challenge in ensuring a cohesive approach to sharing educational content and guidance. Consequently, the decision was made to consolidate resources into a single, accessible platform, centrsdardedze.lv, which would provide comprehensive information on building safe, respectful relationships with children and offer accessible guidance on the types of violence and available support. Additionally, as the Center approached the end of its 2018-2022 strategic period, there was a recognized need for a unified strategic direction and action plan for the following years. This required the development of a comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) plan to assess past achievements and identify areas for improvement, informing the strategic planning process for 2023-2027.
The project focused on creating a new organizational strategy and enhancing the organization’s website to improve accessibility, relevance, and usability for its target audiences. A strategic plan for the upcoming period was developed through collaboration among the management team and a MEL consultant. The process involved multiple consultations and workgroup sessions to define future goals, impact outcomes, target groups, and strategic objectives, aligning with social and societal needs. Two versions of the strategy document were produced: a brief version for public access and a detailed version for internal staff.
The website was modernized, made more structured, and adapted for mobile use to increase accessibility. Key resources from existing educational sites were reviewed and integrated into the main website, with content updated to reflect current legislation and available services. The design was updated, programming completed, and core content was translated into Russian and English to reach a wider audience. The improved website consolidated essential information, ensuring easier access to resources on child safety, violence prevention, and available support options.
The project led to a significantly improved website for the organization, making it more user-friendly, accessible, and efficient for users to find information, especially educational materials for specialists and parents. By merging two separate websites, the information was centralized, simplifying access to resources on specific topics. Additionally, the project provided partial funding for consultations with an international MEL expert, enabling the leadership team to carefully review previous achievements and challenges. This thorough evaluation supported the development of a new organizational strategy, which is now actively used by the board and management team. The team also utilizes the MEL system in daily operations to assess progress on strategic goals, with staff reflecting on both successes and obstacles to optimize future effectiveness.
Through this project, the organization strengthened its capacity to reach and engage with a broader audience, using social media, public media, and opinion pieces published on the updated website to keep the public informed about its activities and mission. The project’s outcomes enhanced the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission by improving resource accessibility, advancing strategic planning, and increasing public awareness and engagement.
