Description
The Pre-defined Project “Climate change and environment education centre (Living Lab) in Dropie” (hereinafter referred to as the “PDP”) is implemented by the Slovak Environment Agency.
The PDP aims to create a complex educational centre that shall ensure the acquisition of relevant knowledge and skills needed to promote and implement climate mitigation and adaptation measures and community outreach. This includes providing the relevant, digestible information, knowledge and skills to negotiate, plan and implement necessary mitigation and adaptation measures for relevant stakeholders on municipal level. An indoor and outdoor Living Lab with practical demonstrations of mitigation and adaptation measures will be established as a mix of new and traditional measures, mainly for pupils and students.
The following work packages are planned:
- Work package 1: Living lab - outdoor measures (adaptation measures WATER, GREEN adaptation measures, adaptation measures COMMUNICATIONS, mitigation measures SOLAR ENERGY, mitigation measures INFRASTRUCTURE),
- Work package 2: Living Lab - indoor measures (project documentation for Living Lab, realization of mitigation and adaptation measures - photovoltaic panels, heat pump, use of traditional materials, intelligent measuring systems, recuperation etc.),
- Work package 3: Living Lab - soft measures (4 _Youth Climate Change Living Lab, education program on climate change adaptation and mitigation measures for kindergartens, elementary schools and secondary schools, methodological manual for schools, practical guidelines , workshops for local decision-makers etc.).
Main target groups of the PDP are pupils and students and representatives of local authorities.
The two Donor Project Partners are involved into the PDP - Norwegian Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research and the Municipality of Trondheim. The Project Partners will cooperate in elaboration of the educational program and above mentioned documents.
