The aim of the Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Centre is to support young people with low levels of education and who belong to the risk group in the continuation of their education or the development of readiness to enter the labour market after basic school.
The result is 84 young people who have completed a vocatinal orientation curriculum programme within two academic years, i.e. four admission times are organized.
Summary of project results
The project aimed to support young people with low levels of education and who belong to the risk group in the continuation of their education or the development of readiness to enter the labour market after basic school.
Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Centre enrolled altogether 81 students to vocational orientation programme in 2022/2023. Of them, 43 students were Ukrainian refugee children, where the programme fulfilled the task to teach the children also about the country, language, traditions, values etc.
79 of 81 students that passed the programme have expressed their intent to continue their studies at a specific profession or enter the labour market. Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Centre has indicated that for them the vocational orientation programme should include more language and social skills aspects. The ontinuation of the programme is under consideration.
