Description
The main goal of the project is to provide pre-school and school health offices with methodological tools to ensure the well-being of children and youth. It should be noted that children and young people are the most vulnerable part of society, so their health problems must be addressed as a matter of priority.
In order to provide high-quality health care services to children and youth in schools and pre-school education institutions of Elektrėnai, Jurbarkas and Prienai regions, it is necessary to purchase new equipment for health offices and perform simple repairs of health offices. This project aims to improve the quality of health care in Elektrėnai, Jurbarkas and Prienai regions and to improve the health of the population. The purchase of new equipment for health care facilities in schools and pre-schools will promote a healthy lifestyle for children and pupils, explain the harms of smoking and drugs, the benefits of sport and active living, and focus on mental health issues through visual aids and games tailored to the age groups of the beneficiaries.
Summary of project results
The project aimed to address critical health and well-being challenges among children and youth in Elektrenai, Jurbarkas, and Prienai regions. It identified and targeted pressing issues to ensure the overall development and long-term health of the community.
The first challenge addressed was the "Lack of Visual and Persuasive Tools" in health offices of pre-schools and schools. These lacked essential equipment for health education, particularly concerning mental health problems, hindering the effectiveness of awareness campaigns.
Recognizing the "Vulnerability of Children and Youth," the project aimed to address their susceptibility to health problems. Unresolved issues in this demographic could lead to poor learning outcomes, communication problems, impaired socialization, and long-term health problems.
Emphasizing the "Importance of Early Intervention," the project highlighted the need to address health issues from an early age. Early intervention and education were considered crucial for establishing enduring healthy lifestyle skills.
Addressing the "Inadequate Health Facilities" in schools and pre-schools, the project conducted simple repairs to create a more suitable environment for health care services.
The project acknowledged the "Long-term Impact on Society" of unresolved health issues in children and young people. It aimed to mitigate these issues, contributing to positive, long-term societal impacts.
Recognizing "Financial Considerations," the project aimed to reduce future healthcare costs by focusing on preventive measures and early intervention, allowing resource allocation to other essential areas.
The "Educational Focus" addressed the lack of emphasis on health education within the curriculum. The project sought to integrate health education into the educational system, promoting not only physical health but also addressing harmful behaviors.
The "Limited Awareness of Mental Health" was identified as a gap, prompting the development of initiatives focusing on mental health awareness. Workshops, presentations, and resources were designed for children, parents, and teachers.
