Description
The project implementation involves a wide range of renovation, construction and conservation works, including renovation and maintenance of the historic building of the Waleria Villa, located in Milanówek. The project scope includes carrying out renovation and conservation works necessary to create a new space for cultural activities in the building of the Waleria Villa. As a result of the investment, the unused historic building will be revitalized and fully adapted to perform cultural and educational functions. The villa will become a place of interdisciplinary approach to culture, combining many of its aspects. The project’s outcome will include a new cultural and educational offer covering a new scope: exhibition and promotion of Jan Szczepkowski''s works -promotion of his life and work in the context of Milanówek Town as well as his international successes, promotion of crafts related to the artist''s work. The center’s activity shall constitute a return to the tradition of Polish school pf design and activity of J. Szczepkowski, as a painter and as a sculptor.Jan Szczepkowski supported traditional crafts, manual work with the use of traditional methods and natural materials.The "Waleria" interdisciplinary cultural education center will actively participate in building the identity of Milanówek. The recipients of the activities will be representatives of artistic and intellectual milieus, people with diverse cultural competences, as well as local and international audiences. The activities will address the needs of different age groups’ representatives and overcome barriers faced by some in their attempts to access culture, including the disabled and socially excluded people.
