Description

The aim of the project is to rise the efficiency of production process of disinfecting agents, to increase productivity and energy savings by full automation of the project promoter company AS Chemi-Pharm. For this, new production devices are needed and automatic dosing system for biocidal raw materials like 1-propanol and 2-propanol shall be taken into use. As a result of implementing the new technology and devices the higher productivity of labour power will be achieved, also energy consumption per production unit (tons, pieces) will be decreased, helping to save the environment. As a result of the project, project promoter production will be fully automatized and modernized. 

The increase of production capability opens for the Company new possibilities to satisfy rising needs of current as well of the new clients on hands and surface disinfection, giving sustainability for the Company in future.

 

Summary of project results

The project tackled the challenge of the lack of automation in Estonian industry sector. Chemi-Pharm is the largest producer and seller of allergen-free disinfection agents, cleansing and skincare products and detergents. Products are exported to more than 25 countries and the main customers are in medical sector. Green ICT project was addressed to streamlining the production of disinfectants through full automation.

The project was an investment project with the intention to apply new technologies in the company. The necessary production equipment for full automation was acquired. As a result of the project, a fully automatic bottling line, a bottling line labeler, a pump installation device and label marking printers were adapted.

Project results enable the company to optimise the production and save energy. In total, energy consumption was decreased by a total of 62.9 MWh in 2022. Environmental objectives are considered achieved as in addition to decrease in energy consumption, CO2 emissions decreased by 77.7 tons in 2022. 15 new jobs have been created during the project.
