This institutional cooperation project will involve activities between the Czech University of Hradec Králové and the Metropolitan University of Oslo. The aim of the project is to focus on technology transfer, intellectual property protection and to support the creation of a business environment based on the results of science and research and to support the establishment of spin-off companies as business entities established for commercialization of intellectual property created at the university. There will be a significant impact of the project ´s outputs and we can divide the impact on the individuals and also at the institutional level. For participants who will be directly involved in the project, there will be a high impact in their professional career, for students who will participate in the innovative course or in summer school there will be a large impact in their understanding of the subject of transfer technology and they will obtain important information in the field of intellectual property. For the students, the program will immerse the participants into study areas that represent important contemporary topics connected with the transfer technology and the problematic areas connected with intellectual property, in an international and multicultural environment and the project will have an impact also to the anti-corruption strategy in the business intellectuals property.
Summary of project results
This institutional cooperation project involved activities between the University of Hradec Králové (UHK) and the Metropolitan University of Oslo (OloMet). The goal of the project was focused on the technology transfer, protection of intellectual property and support for the creation of a business environment based on the results of science and research, and on the establishment of spin-off companies as business entities established for the purpose of commercializing intellectual property created at the university. The solution of the project was very important because of the approach to the important topic of European integration, cultural differences and ethnicity in the field of knowledge transfer, and multiculturalism of the attachment of spin-off companies, the principles of understanding intellectual property law between the partner countries and anti-corruption strategy in the business with the outputs of research. This project of institutional cooperation provided both universities with the opportunity to share their experience with initiatives that contribute to the improvement of the university environment in the field of technology transfer, as well as the opportunity to share not only their approach to teaching, but also their approach to bringing to bringing science and research outputs to the market and sharing methods of setting up spin-off companies at different levels of compulsory higher education.
The main results of the project that were achieved are: • Curriculum of the course Technology transfer for students, academic, researchers and university staff • Syllabi for the course Transfer technology for students, academic and researchers • Methodology for successful spin off setting in academic area • Methodology Summer school Transfer technology Training programmes • 4 Peer-learning activities aimed at sharing best practices in the Czech Republic and in Norway and at UHK and OsloMet • The Summer School 4 TTCamp • The Workshop " “Technology transfer specifics in the humanities" within the Hradec Economic Days conference • Unintented result - Letter of Intent between UHK and OsloMet was signed.
Summary of bilateral results
One of the great benefits of the partner donor project was the cooperation with Simula Research Laboratory OsloMet and Simula Garage which is a technology and knowledge transfer incubator. The organization is an incubator for early-stage, technology intensive startups, with the purpose of providing a working and breathing space for entrepreneurs turning ideas into successful businesses. In this way, OsloMet has large experience with technology transfer and protection of intellectual property which is the main objective of the project. And OsloMet''s experience played a key role in creating the project''s outputs. OsloMet provided consultation, experience and feedback to IO1, IO2, IO3 and IO4. OsloMet was a very good partner for the implementation of the project and connected the Czech partner with a network of researchers, students and technological experts as well as those who run businesses in Norway.
