Description

The project promoter, Intermarine Electronics SA, is involved in design and development, production, engineering, sales, installation & after sales services of marine communication and navigation equipment.

The project Marine Digital Innovation involves the development of two innovative products, included in a ship''s bridge monitoring systems. They are related to the safety of commercial vessels, and both products are mandatory in a vessel per IMO regulations. These are (i) an all-in-one uninterrupted high-power supply integrated with Battery Charger and Automatic change-over-switching for a vessel''s Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), and (ii) an innovative Bridge Navigation Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) integrated with Dead man alarm monitoring in the engine room.

The project will result in two innovative products vital for the safety of the ship, the cargo, and the crew members, commercialized and on the market. Additionally, 1 new job will be created, and the project will increase the competitiveness of the company.

Summary of project results

The project promoter, Intermarine Electronics SA, is involved in design and development, production, engineering, sales, installation & after sales services of marine communication and navigation equipment.

The project Marine Digital Innovation involved the development of an innovative product for the maritime sector. The maritime sector is a sector where safety and reliability is of paramount importance, especially for ocean-going vessels, since there are a lot of risks involved in situations where the hardware is operated in extreme weather conditions and the consequences of the equipment not operating accurately and reliably 100% of the time would be severe to say the least.

The Project Promoter through this project aimed at introducing innovative products to bring additional functionalities but also enhance the reliability of equipment that is included in a ship''s bridge monitoring systems.

Specifically,  and specifically an equipment .

The project concerned the design and development of an all-in-one uninterrupted high-power supply integrated with Battery Charger and Automatic change-over-switching for a vessel''s Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

The project included the design and development of prototypes, in-house testing, testing against IEC60945 and IACS E10 conducted by accredited houses as well as the certification of the final product by a competent authority, according to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) requirements. The final product (called IME 500) is a state-of-the-art marine power supply and battery charging system designed specifically for GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) applications. It provides reliable, efficient power management for critical marine communications and safety equipment.

Key Advantages:

  1. High Power Capacity: Upgraded to 4 kW to meet the needs of all vessel types
