Summary of project results

We focused the project on a marginalized community, which is pushed to the margins of society as a whole. It is a Roma community living in the Lunik IX housing estate in Kosice. We realized the activities with children and young people, especially in the area of regular active education, mainly in playful, unforced forms. In our approach we used Feuerstein''s method of instrumental enrichment which helped us significantly. Very important were the activities focused on cognitive educational "trips" within the majority. It was a good experience for both parties. Both for the majority and for "our" children ". We managed to get involvement of several people who had a natural respect from the majority. New friendships and bonds have been formed on which we can continue to build, we have taught more than 200 hours and experienced 10 fantastic adventure trips, which we ended with a wonderful community day. In the project, they learned participatory and the principle that if you get help and then you have the opportunity to help, do it. These children also need a chance. Over time, the older ones became role models for the younger ones, and gradually we created a community in which we all felt safe, helpful and without distinction. A total of 152 people took part in the project.
