Description
The municipality of Cluj-Napoca has limited financial resources in terms of investment, as there are large panel of priorities and needs for the city development. That is why, every financial resource is crucial in achieving results, for both the quality of life in the city and for the reduction of the municipality operational costs.
The project can directly support initiatives needed for the public lighting in Cluj-Napoca, that directly serves the community. A first mandatory step towards increasing energy efficiency in this public lighting system is the development of an energy audit to identify both the current technical situation of the assets and infrastructure and the technical solutions packages that will lead to the increase energy performance and efficiency, along with an intelligent and adaptive operation. The audit report shall also provide a detailed image of the feasible solutions and optimized package of solutions in regard to intelligent modernization, along with a clear life cycle-cost analysis. Using the energy audit report and associated budget for the energy efficiency solutions, the municipality will next prepare the design and implementation phase.
The optimized package of solutions is expected to have a significant impact on the current situation. The energy required for the lighting is expected to decrease by 50% and emissions is expected to decrease by 1.375 tonnes of CO2 per year. The solutions will also improve outdoor comfort and security environment for more than 400.000 people.
