Description

For our university internationalisation was one of the main priorities over the last 25 years being aimed to impact the enhancement of the education and research quality. By participating in EU programs in our field, UMPh Cluj underwent important academic and management reforms and continuously promoted the EU policies and values. In line with our international commitment and grounded on the goals already achieved within the Bologna Process, future international engagements through new initiatives and partnerships for academic, research, development or mobility purposes are expected to increase the university’s dinamism According to this vision, the existing international dimension of education and research, particularly the 3 degree programmes in English and 2 in French, the university membership in international organisations and networks, will be enhanced both „at home” and across borders, by strengthening the existing partnerships and by developing new relationships with other education stakeholders.
The increasingly high internationalization and multilingualism level attained( over 2500 international students from 62 countries) as well as the current student and staff exchanges with universities from 12 European and emergent countries participating to the Erasmus+ program have conferred UMPh Cluj an increasing international reputation, attractiveness and visibility.  As a result of this external interaction and opportunity growth potential, the university’s future is being rethought by analyzing the local and global trends leading to the internationalization strategy realignment and keeping mobility activities and capacity development in the core of the strategy.
Therefore, the EEA grants for Romania-Mobility projects in Higher Education, beside the two-way mobility actions, also responds to the collaborative international dimension needs of the medical education, cutting-edge research and innovation aimed to the medical sector, one of the most globalized one.

Summary of project results

Summary of bilateral results

Through the collaboration with the partners for the Donor States, mobility participants have gained sector-specific and practical skills relevant for their current job and also for professional development, have learned from good practices abroad, have extended their professional network and built new contacts and have enhanced their employment and career opportunities. All of these learning results and skills gaining could be achieved through the partnership with the bilateral partners.Considering the fact that this project started with only one valid inter-institutional agreement which was in the domain of only one of our mobilities, the identification of potential collaborators from the Donor States was the responsibility of our your researchers and teachers. Even if the identification of the collaborators was not an easy task, once the partnership started, both sides (our university and the Donor States partners) plans to continue the relationship.
