Description

The project concerns youth health and the development of educational tools for public health. The goal is their further development and exchange of good practices in child welfare education. Through the project, we want to implement the aspect of inclusive education, improve the health competences of young people and implement safety standards in education. In total, we plan to reach a group of 20.000 people. Activities envisaged in the project involve workshops, training and a city game. Those based on the non-formal education modules, which are: universal, flexible, contain evaluation and dissemination, practical, attractive of form and content, and use of IT and networking tools. The project will allow the implementation of innovative tools in Norway and their further development in Poland. The developed quality standards (QNEC certificate) will have a positive impact on children and young people through educational organizations and institutions implementing them.

Summary of project results

The project "StartNow +" concerns youth health and the development of educational tools for public health. Its aim is to supplement the educational offer with aspects of inclusive education, improve the health competences of young people, in particular groups with fewer opportunities, and implement child welfare standards in education. The project responds to the growing needs of young people and educators by filling the gaps that appear in the process of formal education. Project activities included workshops, training and a city game, were based on the use of the project result - the method of non-formal educational modules, which are characterized by: universality, flexibility, use of evaluation and dissemination, practicality of issues, attractiveness of form and content, and the use of IT and networking tools. As a result, 10 educational modules created in the "StartNow!" Project were updated and published in the form of eye-catching flashcards. The second part of the result was the development of 10 new modules, which along with the flashcards were published on the project website https://www.startnowplus.com, in the project publication entitled "StartNow+ Teach and learn about health" and in the Start Now + mobile application. The third result was the development of 10 principles of child welfare education, popular in Scandinavian countries and not popular in Poland. The child welfare principles were disseminated through a series of newsletters, project training and a published e-book. Organizations that have learned and implemented the principles in their youth work have received the QNEC certificate. In the longer term, the introduced principles will have a positive impact on children and young people, through the organizations and educational institutions implementing them. All results were prepared in 3 languages, which will enable their wide dissemination both in the project countries and other European countries.

Summary of bilateral results

Cooperation with the organization from Norway was an invaluable added value for us, as we have never had a partner from Scandinavia before. Scandinavian countries, including Norway, are famous for their exemplary education. Working on the project allowed us to get to know Scandinavian models both in the sphere of education and child welfare of children and youth. The work on the child welfare principles was very fruitful, because the Norwegians paid attention to things that often escape in Poland and are not taken into account. Together, we have created 10 such principles that support the work of educators with young people. Thanks to the cooperation, we saw with our own eyes what slow life can be in the center of the great capital of the country, we got to know Scandinavian hygge and the hospitality of these people. Without the cultural background and without the possibility of getting to know it, it would not be possible to achieve results at such a high level. Our cooperation also resulted in new modules, the authors of which were both HOPP and Furim employees. The topics of the new modules correspond to the needs of Polish and Norwegian youth, thanks to which our result is up-to-date and universal. Taking into account our common experience, we would certainly like to be able to continue cooperation. As part of the current Erasmus + accreditation of our association, a partner from Norway has already joined our educational activities. This year, Furim employees will take part in the training, and next year the youth from Oslo will have the opportunity to visit Poland.
