Summary of project results

The LogoLAB - Dialogue without Barriers project aimed to raise the standards of speech therapy care in Poland - aligning them with the principles of evidence-based practice and models of inclusive education and the social model of disability, in order to improve the quality of life of people with persistent stuttering. The direct recipients of this project were speech therapists, speech therapy students, other professionals (teachers, educators and psychologists) and leaders of the self-help movement, people who stutter and parents of children with stuttering, and indirectly the general public. An important goal of this project was to improve the quality of education - both academic and professional - using the results of the latest scientific research and international experience. In this project, the following intellectual outputs were developed: a textbook for speech therapists, speech therapy students and other professionals, entitled Dialogue without Barriers - Effective Speech Therapy Intervention in Stuttering; a documentary film featuring children who stutter, their parents and professionals, promoting evidence-based guidelines prepared on the basis of the results of research conducted among children who stutter and their parents in Poland, Norway, Slovakia and the USA. In addition to the film, promotional materials were created: a poster and a flyer. The third result is the LOGOLab website (www.logolab.edu.pl) - a comprehensive compendium of knowledge on stuttering. The NGO Agere Aude Foundation for Knowledge and Social Dialogue was invited to cooperate in this project. In turn, the Norwegian partner - the Norwegian University of the Arctic (UIT) in Tromsø - was attracted because of the long-standing cooperation in the field of speech fluency disorders conducted between Dr. Katarzyna Węsierska and Dr. Hilda Sønsterud. The participating representatives of the various partner institutions were highly competent in the fields of speech therapy and communication sciences. Especially the cooperation between the national partners was very intensive and close at every stage of project implementation. Cooperation with the Norwegian partner was somewhat hampered by the situation related to the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the participation of the Norwegian partner enabled the exchange of good practices. 2/3 of the planned mobility was realized.

Summary of bilateral results

The beneficiary declares that the cooperation with the partner institution from the Donor States will continue and that the positive effects of the project are sustainable and will continue after the funding period.
