Summary of project results
One of the main objectives of the EP was to prepare students and academic staff for the challenges faced by HE units in the context of the internationalization of study programs and scientific work. Project participants gained the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the international scientific community, strengthen scientific contacts, and access specialist knowledge. Therefore, the implementation of the project was part of not only the system of strategic activities of internationalization of HE but also the system of pro-quality goals, i.e., acquiring new knowledge and skills, obtaining information on new innovative methods and methodologies of scientific work, increasing language competences, defining one''s position in relation to the objectives of other research institutions, understanding and deepening knowledge about cultural differences. An important element of the EP was the strengthening of bilateral relations with universities from Norway and Iceland, as well as the development of the current and the beginning of new cooperation. The mobility of JU employees under the EP was an important factor in the development of institutions involved in cooperation through an increase in internationalization and individual development of employees. Among the staff of JU, there is a great awareness of the benefits of participation in various types of mobility programs and visits to foreign research centers. Raising the level and improving education based on adapting study programs to the needs of the labor market and internationalizing the teaching workshop are considered to be key elements of JU''s development strategy. During their stay at the partner univ., teachers, in addition to conducting classes with students, had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the way of implementing the didactic process, gain experience in educating students in an intercultural environment, develop new teaching methods as well as establish other forms of cooperation. In addition, academic teachers, like administrative staff, participated in training mob., during which they took part in training, improving qualifications related to the nature of the work performed in the parent unit.
Summary of bilateral results
Shaping a knowledge-based society is one of the modern world’s most significant challenges. The source of knowledge generation is seen in the work of research teams, primarily at universities and scientific institutions. Universities are perceived as forecasting leaders, proposing but looking for innovative solutions to contemporary problems. The process of sharing knowledge enables the exchange of information and establishing partnerships, which in turn allows for mutual learning from each other. The effect of such synergy is the transformation of individual knowledge into a resource serving the entire organization as well as its environment. Indeed, the implementation of the Education Programme contributed to closer cooperation between Jagiellonian University and partner universities. An undoubted benefit is the expansion of the mobility offer and the initiation of joint activities with units from the Donor States, mutual knowledge of individuals, educational offer, and research potential. The Jagiellonian University has been cooperating with entities from Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein for many years as part of the Erasmus+ Programme. Research projects are also carried out, as part of which Jagiellonian University researchers cooperate with outstanding specialists from these countries. At the moment, it isn’t easy to assess the impact of the cooperation established under the Education Programme with universities from the Donor Countries, but we hope that it will be preserved in its current form (mobility programs) and will also be translated into individual cooperation of scientists who will jointly prepare scientific publications and apply for research and educational projects, which will undoubtedly have an impact on the development of entire institutions.
