Mobility of staff and students in higher education (HE)
Summary of project results
The aim of project was:
- expanding international cooperation of AGH by establishing new contacts with foreign universities in EEA countries
- objective to improve the quality of education and professional competences of students and increase the number of students of our university who, as part of their studies at the 1st and/or 2nd degree, completed studies at a partner university and/or internships under the Education Programme. This tendency is reflected in efforts to extend this trend to the 3rd degree of studies
- objective to increase the number of students, staff and lecturers coming to AGH
The implementation of activities was focused on expanding international cooperation. Currently, the university has 5 agreements signed with the program countries, due to the exchange of students for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree studies is developed. Under the project EEA/19/K2/W/003, the University carried out a total of 9 student and employee mobility (including 6 students and 3 employees) out of 22 initially planned (16 students and 6 employees). This discrepancy is due to the impossibility of traveling due to SARS-CoV-2.
Out of the planned 9 student mobilities for studies, 4 were carried out. Out of the planned 7 student mobilities for internships, 2 were carried out. As part of the project, a total of 3 staff mobilities for training purposes were carried out.
The main quality objectives have been achieved. The project achieved its goals by expanding international cooperation, maintaining the level of interinstitutional agreements, and constant cooperation between institutions.
The benefits include: increasing opportunities on the labor market, learning foreign languages, increasing openness, awareness of the need for further education, improving intercultural, IT, mathematical and entrepreneurial competences, developing teamwork skills, problem solving, creativity, risk taking, responsibility and skill work in an international environment. Employees had the opportunity to establish cooperation and development opportunities in the field of exchange of experiences, good practices and talks regarding joint ventures such as: projects, publications, educational offer for students.
Summary of bilateral results
The completed project involved students and academic employees exchanges. The main aim of the students mobility referred to implementation of planned studies and internship programs, conducting scientific research. The main purpose of the academic staff mobility was participation in training sessions as well as establishing cooperation and continuation to expand the existing relations. Planned mobilities were designed to bring mutual benefits to recipients in which the students and the staff could get acquainted with the culture of Norway, Iceland and Poland and at the same time universities were able to promote their programs and offers abroad. The exchange of students and academic staff, experience and thoughts will intensify the collaboration and what is more will create new solutions, safe technologies and will improve still existing mechanisms. Considering all the benefits of mutual bilateral cooperation, we are planning to continue further projects.
