Summary of bilateral results
The selection of the host organization was helped by defining the priorities of SOSW No. 1 and the needs to improve the quality of school work. These activities were performed by the project team. Based on their experience and conversations with the teaching staff, the team selected the organizers of the study visit. Finally, the host institution was selected, which is a special school with a profile similar to Project Promotore. It is a very modern school attended by students from all over the country - not only from the capital. Choosing this school gave Project Promotor a broader insight into the education system for people with disabilities in Iceland and how they are included in society. Such a large and qualified staff gave them a guarantee for a wide view of education in this country. In addition, they could see a number of modern technologies used in the facility to educate students with special needs, especially students with autism. Having a chance to observe this type of work in a modern center, they encouraged their teachers to introduce new technologies in education. In addition, the division of tasks between the partners was agreed, the learning outcomes, the program of the study visit, the duration and other details regarding the organization of the visit were agreed. The tasks of the partner school included:- carrying out a study visit according to the agreed schedule,- assistance in finding suitable accommodation,- preparation of a professional cultural program in the afternoon and evening hours,- assistance in the dissemination of project results,- ongoing contact with the coordinator.Partners communicated via e-mail, ZOOM platform, social media. The partner institution helped to carry out the tasks preceding the study visit, disseminate the objectives of the visit and find a future partner for the next project.
