Description

The visit aims at creating a system which allows to incorporate issues of sustainable development and social inclusion to chosen faculties. Currently only 2 faculties include these issues in their programmes. Two employees of International Cooperation Department will be the participants. The actions taken will lead to creating a supporting system for lecturers working on modernization of educational programmes. The methodology applied – encompasses workshops, case study, project. Expected results: the staff prepared to work based on the created system, training material devoted to sustainable development and social inclusion, lecturers exchange plan. The project''s influence will be visible in modernization of educational programmes and the development of cooperation among the partners. Long term profits will encompass students being able to take advantage of modernized programmes constituting the different dimension of education.

Summary of project results

The project encompassed preparations to the visit, the visit itself and the actions taken after the mobility. The preparatory stage included writing the application for a visit, signing the agreement with FRSE, signing the agreement with the hosting institution, confirming the period of visit, c purchase of airline tickets, accommodation booking, purchasing insurance for the time of the mobility. Actions taken during the visit took place according to the schedule presented in point 5. After completing the visit, its effects have been summarized and a plan of cooperation with the partner for each faculty has been discussed – internal meetings with departments, scheduling works with Deans and Deputy Deans of faculties involved and their teaching staff. Detailed actions: Expectations towards the system – workshop session with the partner. Overviewed present education programs, teaching staff’s profiles, level of internationalization of faculties – presentation for the partner.

Workshop on sustainable development run by the representatives of Sólheimar. Elements of sustainable development in each education programme – possibility of modifying programs - brainstorming session that involved two parties.
Inspection visit in each part of the farm – case study. Observation of integrating workshop – accompanying internship.
Establishing a team to support modernization of education programs – presentation of deans and deputy deans, analysis of their international experience, election of persons involved in actions and division of responsibilities.
Developing a plan of work for each faculty – work in teams. Exchange schedule, subject matter of training sessions, Sólheimar’s representatives’ lectures at the college.
Work schedule after completing the mobility, efforts towards gaining funds for international exchange for teaching staff and partner’s representatives.

 

Summary of bilateral results

Cooperation with the partner institution went well, adequately to the changing pandemic situation. The two institutions were in contact all the time and were looking for opportunities to implement the project. The option of a remote visit was considered if the borders remained closed, fortunately, we managed to carry out a traditional visit.
