Description

Within the framework of this proposal, it was established a network of institutions involved in research and outreach from Portugal, Iceland and Norway to develop a strategic cooperation program built on three complementary pillars: i) technical cooperation – implementation of a research project aiming to assess the mechanisms adaptation of different species to rapid environmental change; ii) capacity building - organization of technical workshops on topics of interest to all partners; and iii) program for science dissemination – sharing good practices on effective science dissemination

Summary of the results

The initiative brought together researchers and science communicators from Norway, Iceland, and Portugal, thereby contributing to the strengthening of relationships among these countries. The activities of this initiative included sample collections (and subsequent samples), outreach activities, and technical workshops. The project enabled technical cooperation and knowledge transfer among the teams, including a master''s student. The outreach activities also exposed the various teams to an audience beyond the academic world, thus contributing to a better understanding of the socioeconomic differences among the countries, as well as the values, efforts, and convergences that unite them.
