Description
The purpose of the Roundtable between the Czech and Norwegian partners is the preparation of the bilateral cooperation in three pre-defined projects in Justice programme which is financed by Norway grants. The aim is to deepen contacts that were established in the previous Roundtable (22nd – 23rd May 2018) and to get detailed information about the possibilities in future cooperation. Meeting shall focus on the possible cooperation of Norwegian partners in individual project activities. There shall be also a discussion regarding the alternative measures for convicted and conditionally released
Summary of the results
In September 2018, there was implemented second round table focused also on networking and sharing of Norwegian and Czech representatives. In total, 30 representatives participated – 18 from Norway, 12 from the Czech Republic. Next to the very fruitful discussions, presentations of experiences and networking, there was also included a field trip to Jiřice prison. The aim of the meeting was to deepen knowledge about the system of Norwegian and Czech correctional services, i.e. resocialization of prisoners. There were included also other topics such as alternative measures for convicts and parolees. The initiative consisted of a three-day meeting between Norwegian experts and Czech representatives involved in the preparation of predefined projects. They discussed mainly a form of future cooperation, precise schedules and form of each study visit and job shadowing within pre-defined projects.
