Description

The project will focus on rainwater harvesting, recycling and reuse. It will involve children, parents, local communities and the general public. The objective of the project is to increas public environmental awareness in adaptation to climate change issues. Through the project implementation, the volume of rainwater that is reused will be achieved and the knowledge among children about climate change adaptation measures will be raised. The curricula focused on management of rainwater and climatic changes will be modified for the school education programme. Educational activities focused on environment will also be organised. Children, students and civil services are expected to benefit from the project implementation.

Summary of project results

Results of this project is implemented into a environmental education of our students. Raising ecological understanding in field of climate changes adjustments by correct usage of rain water and saving sources of drinking water. Planted trees have cognitive and aesthetical function. Area has become a resting zone for students and citizens of Margecany. Results of this project´s objective were achieved at 100%. Within these activities and outputs we have achieved the following results : -education in all classes at our school, -starting promotional conference, -final promotional conference, -open lessons – Water Day, Earth Day, -public lecture for students on climate change. We fulfilled all the planned objectives of the project. Thanks to the project, we have a beautiful aesthetic environment, we have increased the awareness of students on environmental issues, and the project is illustrative as an aid in learning. The retained water is used for watering the green areas and cleaning sidewalks. We highly recommend participation in projects like this.
