Description

The aim of this project is to raise the quality of teaching by exchanging experiences and examples of best practice with a partner school in Norway, Teigar Lower Secondary School, in the following fields: children with special needs; encouraging digital and reading literacy; school counselling, career orientation and school management; and international researches. The partners expect better results in state tests, international researches, positive school climate and more effective career counselling. They will learn new strategies and approaches in working with children with special needs and gifted pupils. New strategies will be presented at school, implanted in the annual action plan and school vision, presented in the local paper and at teachers’ meeting in the area. Both schools and their employees are expected to benefit from the project, especially through the new strategies implemented in the teaching. Pupils and the community will also benefit because the project will result in improved effectiveness and employability skills.

Summary of project results

The project stems from a desire to improve our school work and results in the following fields: children with special needs, leadership and school climate, career counseling, literacy and digital literacy and the second and motivated professionals and the other for participation in international projects. At the end of the school year we convened an evaluation meeting to examine which evidence is reasonable and can be entered in the annual work plan for our schools. The aim was a few members of the staff observe classes and other school activities at the partner school in Norway for 5 days. The objective was fully achieved and exceeded, as we have established contacts with local school authorities in the municipality and one elementary school in the city, all was well visited and learn about examples of good practice. Acquaintance with different working methods, exchange of experience and insight into examples of good practice.

Summary of bilateral results

On mobility, we presented our school, city, country and our school system. In Slovenia, we published an article about the mobility in a local newspaper “Rogaške novice”. Important observations made from mobility were presented at school conference, on team of counselors in our region, on the team of principals, and we plan to publish it in the scholarly article. Brochure with photos and a brief presentation of mobility. Beneficiaries were invited to participate in the meeting of the teaching staff. We divided the tasks in relation to the content of the project. New knowledge, insight into examples of good practice in schools in Norway, the transfer of some of the findings in our school practice, improving language competence and strengthen international awareness of the school staff.
