Description

The University of Primorska (UP) Norway lceland Liechtenstein mobility program is a project in line with the objectives of the Grants to reduce social and economic disparities and strengthen inter-institutional cooperation with partner institutions from eligible countries in the field of education. The project organises student and staff mobility, exchanges of experts and/or further networking. This project specifically supports mobility experience and knowledge transfer with lceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. By participating in the mobility of students and staff UP strives to enhance professional and academic knowledge and skills in the participating countries, which in turn contributes to improving the economic and social potential of the individual and, speaking broadly, the strengthening of social capital. All partners involved in the project must comply with the objectives of the project and with mutual rights and obligations. Cooperation will be based on the bilateral agreements or other appropriate arrangements with partners depending on the mobility in question. These partners are: Lillehammer University College (Norway), Telemark University College (Norway), Nord-Trondelag University College (HINT) (Norway), University of Oslo (Norway), Stord Haugesund University College (Norway), Buskerud and Vestfold University College (Norway), Hedmark University College (Norway), University of Bergen (Norway), BI Norwegian Business School (Norway), Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology (Norway), University of Iceland (Iceland) and University of Liechtenstein (Liechtenstein).

Summary of project results

UP wants to reduce social and economic disparities and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation with partner institutions from eligible countries in the field of education by student and staff mobility, exchange of experts and networking. They improve language skills; develop intercultural awareness and understanding skills; explore new personal horizons. The objective was, in accordance with the University Strategy, to increase the number of international mobility of students and staff between partners. Participants in mobility gained new experiences, knowledge, business and personal contacts in the international environment; consequently, they are enabled to raise the quality of work at the home institution. The project was very successful. Both staff and students have established contacts with institutions in foreign countries, gained new knowledge and experiences. The internationalization of the working environment and the increasing integration of Slovenian institutions in international flows require active cooperation with foreign partners. The main benefit was to facilitate mobility of students and staff in order for the participants to gain knowledge about foreign institutions, countries and their good practices with high professional standards.

Summary of bilateral results

Their contribution was in giving us the possibility to follow our Strategy by providing us the funds for enabling mobility of students and staff. They also provided us with necessary information on possibilities of host institutions. New opportunities for cooperation with our country and our institution. The project is very important for our research and international fields. The goal is to strengthen cooperation and participation in joint projects, which will further reduce economic and social disparities between involved countries. We already have some joint projects with Norway and Iceland, but we want to increase the cooperation and participation in joint projects, which will further contribute to reducing economic and social disparities between involved countries. The wider effects of mobility are visible in a more intensive cooperation among partner institutions in the countries of donors, cooperation among international offices as well as on the pedagogical level. It is a mutual transfer of good practices among different institutions.
