Description
“MOLDE 50: Rede co-criativa Geração +50 Ativa” is aimed at people over 50, especially women, who are in a situation of social vulnerability. It has two essential components: training and capacity building of beneficiaries and the promotion of employability and entrepreneurship. The beneficiaries of this project will be integrated into a sewing workshop, where creative sewing workshops will be developed, with the ultimate goal of the project being the creation of their own job, the professional retraining of the beneficiaries and the promotion of an active life. “
Summary of project results
The MOLDE 50 project is aimed at people over the age of 50 who are socially vulnerable and need to retrain, counteract isolation and redefine an active life project tailored to their needs. Many of these people, who are dependent on social support such as unemployment benefit or RSI, have low qualifications and reintegration into the labour market is therefore not easy. On the other hand, those who are retired often receive low pensions and are unable to meet their expenses, which are often increased by their dependence on other members of the household, who are also in a precarious situation. The project therefore focuses on all those who, after the age of 50, face more complex and difficult challenges than others, as is particularly the case with women, who are heavily stigmatised by society.
The molde 50 project began in April, 2019. Activities took place according to the timeline presented. Meetings were scheduled with partners to identify technicians, their affectation to the project, schedules and functions to be played. The activities of the 1st training / training action took place with normality and within the planned. In relation to the senior volunteering, in partnership with the Senior University of Marvila, the group met in Agir XXI in 2019, developing in a 1st stage a sharing of knowledge with the beneficiaries of the Atelier and actions of citizenship and rights of seniors were developed. In January 2020 this activity was suspended by the University in accordance with the rules of DGS. The great challenge of this project arise with the 1st confinement. Strategies were developed to maintain motivation of trainees, technicians and the entire team. In this sense, weekly meetings started online and those who did not have the telephone contact. This weekly presence involved in the premises of AGIR XXI for delivery and distribution of material for the confection of masks, distributed by the community, Parish of Marvila, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Firefighters, technicians, beneficiaries.
After the 2nd confinement, it was necessary to adapt space, time, number of beneficiaries in Atelier and ensure the implementation of 2 actions of training / training simultaneously.
The atelier activities were carried out despite the different confines, which meant reorganising the atelier space and setting various challenges: making masks, creative sewing, making bags, small arrangements and other items. Most of this work was done in the Costur''Art Atelier at AGIR XXI. During the lockdown period, the work continued to be done in the residences. The volunteering activity with the senior population, which was planned in the application, was suspended in March 2020, with the 1st lockdown. The Marvila Senior University only resumed its activity in November 2021. It should be noted that this group was heavily penalised by the lockdown, being deprived of social contact, despite telephone contact from the team. The final event was a face-to-face reunion between the seniors and the MOLDE50 team.
Volunteering was adjusted and readapted to the new realities, no longer just intergenerational. Two volunteers/beneficiaries were integrated into the Atelier, empowered through training and capacity building to collaborate in the preparation of the MOLDE 50 event/exhibition; two seniors continued to be present at the Atelier and one volunteer in the area of photography, image and video.
