Description
The priority of the project is to empower diverse groups – mostly youth, but also their parents, unemployed young people, the Roma, the elderly and other marginalized groups of society in the region of Bela Krajina - by investing in human capital through cultural, educational and social engagement in different activities, such as workshops for music, theater, film, photography, literature, professional counseling, psychotherapy counseling, ecology, language course, website design. The project will transfer knowledge and skills to children and youth, help people in distress and equip them with skills for tackling every day-difficulties and struggles, foster youth involvement in their local environment with acquired skills, generate concrete and practical products through creative workshops and contribute to solidarity, social inclusion and social justice. The unique feature of the project is its special mobile infrastructure – a van, which will enable the programme to be delivered cyclically from place to place and establish as permanent platform in the region after the completion of the project.
Summary of project results
The priority of the project was to provide young people from Bela Krajina region with quality ways of spending their free time. In cooperation with local partners they provided them different options and the young people could choose for themselves what are they mostly interested in. The program was implemented by using a van - ŠKRATMOBIL. They empower diverse groups – mostly youth, but also their parents, unemployed young people, the Roma, the elderly and other marginalized groups of society in the region of Bela Krajina - by investing in human capital through cultural, educational and social engagement in different activities, such as workshops for music, theater, film, photography, literature, professional counseling, psychotherapy counseling, ecology, language course, website design. The project transferred knowledge and skills to children and youth, helped people in distress and equip them with skills for tackling every day-difficulties and struggles, foster youth involvement in their local environment with acquired skills, generate concrete and practical products through creative workshops and contribute to solidarity, social inclusion and social justice. The project was an important enrichment for the region that is often left out from other activities due to it's distance from Ljubljana and bad traffic connections. It one of the most deprived regions in Slovenia and any activities that takes place there is really welcomed.
