Summary of project results

The project was initiated as a result of two needs identified in the institution – the need to develop the skills and competences of the staff by aligning our training methods to the 21st century standards, through the direct participation of 9 experts in structured courses provided by similar institutions in the EEA. Also, being an institution that addresses the training needs of teachers, we have identified the need of secondary teachers to apply interactive teaching methods in different subjects in order to make the teaching more meaningful and engage students, increase retention and develop their skills in accordance with the current requirements. Thus, 9 trainers from CCD Bacău were selected to participate in three training courses: 1) The teacher as a change agent (Newschool, AS); 2) Assessment for learning - Creative and diverse assessment methods for education for the 21st century (InterCultural Iceland); 3) Reaching, teaching and keeping our learners (InterCultural Iceland). As a result, the 9 trainers organised dissemination and valorisation activities: articles in the local media (Desteptarea) and specialised magazines (Tribuna Invatamantului), presentations to the teaching staff in their schools, seminars with teacher trainers, training courses with 120 teachers from 35 schools across Bacău county. The participants improved their communication skills in English, their didactic communication, their training and assessment methods. The indirect beneficiaries (teachers) improved their assessment skills, project planning skills and learned to better manage the diverse groups of students in order to increase retention. The three courses developed have already been approved and included in the training offer of our institution.
