Description
Since May 2018 the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) calls for the adoption of lawful practices, in which explicit and informed user consent is mandatory, and privacy is to be set by design and default, opening the door to a new paradigm in which users are empowered with control over their data/information. However, from the technical perspective, this raises several concerns in several application domains. Examples of such concerns are: where does the data collected by smartphones and surrounding sensors go? For how long will it be stored in the applications cloud
Summary of the results
Although we did not make all the visits to the partner university due to the pandemic crisis and although it was not possible to carry out the trials at Ostfold University, this project surpassed all the indicators planned. At the end of the project we have the
new privacy framework proposal, several papers published in top conferences and magazines, several master theses completed, several PhD and master students working on these topics and a web portal to support future collaborative work between research groups. All the indicators are more than initially planned.
