Description
Organised in Bulgaria by the PO and the Project Promoter, the General Directorate `Execution of Sentences`. The initiative includes on-site visits in locations and institutions relevant to the implementation of the three pre-defined projects of General Directorate `Execution of Sentences`. The Norwegian delegation is composed by representatives of the DPP, the Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Service (KDI) and of local structures within the KDI, that will act as donor project partners. Summary of the results
Officers from Solholmen Half-way House (at Kristiansand Prison), Agder Regional Probation Office and Åna Prison visited two prisons, two probation offices (Plovdiv and Vratsa) and the possible terrain for building the new pilot prison in Bulgaria. The project-level partners from Norway became acquainted with the situation of the correctional services in Bulgaria. On-site visits enabled the partners to discuss concrete implementation elements of the pre-defined projects. This was a useful prerequisite for guaranteeing a quality contribution by the Norwegian site in the design of the prison facilities and the soft measures.
