Description
The initiative aims at developing and improving research cooperation between the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Stavanger (FST UoS) and the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the Czech Technical University (FTS CTU) in Prague. The main focus of the bilateral cooperation will be the exchange and broadening of the knowledge about planning in the context of smart, sustainable and resilient cities. A particular emphasis will be given to climate change mitigation and adaptation policies, strategies (including risk management ones), technologies and measures in the context
Summary of the results
At the beginning we set the aim of the bilateral initiative to build research network the field of resilient, smart and sustainable cities and regions. To successfully achieve this goal we held two bilateral workshops. 1st workshop we organized in Stavanger at Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Stavanger. We set these main objectives of the workshop: the exchange and broadening of the knowledge about planning in the context of smart, sustainable and resilient cities. The researchers from our partners´University of Stavanger addressed topics as circular economy in the Norwegian building sector, wireless communication using 5G for the future smart cities, and the use of high-endurance drones for risk management and emergency response. 2nd workshop we organized in Prague at Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Czech Technical University in Prague, the researchers shared their expertise related to wireless infrastructure and technologies, co-creation approach among citizens for the protection of urban environment, the applications of 5G wireless and its relation to the environmet, smart and carbon-neutral urban mobility and green infrastructure or sustainable cities. The consultants, mayors, enterpreteneurs, Ambassador of of Norway in the Czech Rep.provided additional valuable contribution to the workshop. The laboratory visit was also part of the event.
