Description

The BIRD initiative will allow a Norwegian team, of three specialists on spontaneous improvised communication between children, to observe CMT performances of PaPi Opus8 in Portuguese (Lisbon) and Norwegian (Oslo) kindergartens, which permits a direct comparison between different cultural groups. It will also allow: to share artistic experiences specially conceived for early childhood, to reflect about its importance and repercussions for those involved (children, artists, educators, families); to promote the scientific study of children´s reception/behavior in “ecological” contexts of

Summary of the results

Objective 1: Reducing economic and social disparities
Our project mainly contributes to the reduction of social disparities between Portugal and Norway, as we have something to learn with each other. Our approach to produce portable but very high-quality performances for the early years is a feature much appreciated and inspiring for all people we meet (our partners, the directors, teachers and kindergartens assistants). In the same way we got inspired to do other projects and projects in other ways after experiencing how kindergartens work in Norway.
Objective 2: Strengthening bilateral relations
CMT has a long-lasting collaboration with Oslo Metropolitan University via Jan Sverre Knudsen. Our trip to Oslo allowed the strengthening of our professional relationship but also our personal and social relations, as we had the opportunity to spend some time together. The non-formal exchange of experiences contributes to the development of a reciprocal appreciation for each other work, and paves the way to new collaborations in the near future.
