Description

Considering the fact that since July 1, 2018 the system for the protection of the rights of the child in Lithuania became centralized, there is a need to strengthen the competencies of specialists working in the system. Although the theoretical level is more or less developed (methodologies, descriptions are available), practical implementation varies from region to region, there is a lack of united practice related to the response to violations of children''s rights, specialists face challenges, not knowing how to address specific issues in a targeted way, and which specific measures can be

Summary of the results

1. One 5 day study visit to Iceland was organized, 8 institutions and organizations were visited by the 6 representatives of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania and 4 representatives of the State Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service under Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania;

2. 5 online trainings sessions for the Lithuanian child rights specialists were organized, 148 specialists attended trainings.

3. Training material for the child rights specialists was prepared and approved by the The Interdepartmental Child Welfare Council under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. The information and materials obtained during the study visit to Iceland were used in preparing training material and conducting trainings for Lithuanian child rights specialists.
