Description

The aim of the visit was to meet the future partners of the pre-defined project "Development of Quality Based Lithuanian Correctional Service System", such as representatives from the KRUS, Hedmark and Bredtveit prisons, Oslo Probation Office and Oslo Halfway House to discuss activities to be implemented by the project partners, time frame, outcomes and project budget. The representatives of the Prison Department and other correctional institutions of Lithuania as well as the representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania also visited Hedmark and Bredtveit prisons and

Summary of the results

During the visit the representatives of the Prison Department and other correctional institutions of Lithuania as well as the representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania discussed with the future partners of the pre-defined project "Development of Quality Based Lithuanian Correctional Service System" (KRUS, Hedmark and Bredtveit prisons, Oslo Probation Office and Oslo Halfway House) the partnership agreements and activities to be implemented in the project. The representatives from Lithuania also visited Hedmark and Bredtveit prisons and had a closer look at inmates'' resocialization, discussed positive and meaningful inmates'' occupation in pilot correctional centres. The new concept of the Training Centre, planned curricula and effective planning of the cell type premises for inmates to be reconstructed/built in course of the project were also discussed at the meetings.
