Summary of the results
In the first meetings, held in Lisbon between the partners from Norway (17 and 18th November) and the Portuguese team, enabled to design strategies of working together and exchange experiences, strengthening bilateral relations that will be crucial for the final event and future bilateral projects. The fact that the partners, together with the MNE (National Museum of Ethnology) visited the Museum collections contributed to a knowledge of Portuguese cultural heritage and a reflection on ways to work on the Museum Archives, the main theme for the Conference on visual archives Norway/Portugal. The conference: “Ethnographic films in the Nordic countries” at NOVA FCSH on the 18 November was attended by a large audience of students contributing to spread the ways ethnographic film has been reached by larger audiences through the NAFA Meetings and Festivals. Giving access to this kind of information to the overall academic public is important in reducing economic and social disparities. The second meeting, held in Tromsø contributed, in the same way, to strengthen bilateral relations. By contacting directly with the local partners, students and colleagues in the Artic University, the Portuguese team reached a larger target, not just as a preparation for the main activity to have place in October 2020, but also as a way to crate pledges and communicate in a very direct way the overall activities.
