Description

OIL DEPOL SERVICE S.R.L. is a leading Romanian provider of integrated services in the decontamination field, including waste management services for all solid and liquid hazardous and non-hazardous waste resulting from semisubmersible/ drillship rig while operating offshore Romania, in the Black Sea. The operations OIL DEPOL SERVICE S.R.L. carry out require a higher technical capacity to transport different hazarduous and non-hazarduous waste from offshore bases, to transport them from various landfill customers’ locations to the Company’s facilities designed for waste treatment, to supplement the existing bio-remediation logistic capacities where hazarduous offshore, solid and liquid waste will be processed and to clean the containers before a new offshore-land transportation-bioremediation cycle. The Project addresses these needs through the procurement of containers (mud skips),trailer, tractor with accessories, high-pressure pump with accessories, while creating 11 new green jobs.

Summary of project results

OIL DEPOL SERVICE S.R.L. is a leading Romanian provider of integrated services in the decontamination field, including waste management services for all solid and liquid hazardous and non-hazardous waste resulting from semisubmersible drillship rig while operating offshore Romania, in the Black Sea. Eco-initiatives related to material efficiency and improved waste management have materialized through investments in technology such as: mud skips (100 containers used for the transport of different hazardous and non-hazardous waste from offshore bases, but also for transport from various landfill customers’ locations to the facilities designed for waste treatment - bioremediation especially), trailer (1 unit which facilitates the inland operative transport of the containers, as well as of other equipment used for delivering bioremediation services), tractor with accessories (1 unit which supplements the existing bio-remediation logistic capacities where hazardous offshore, solid and liquid waste are processed), high-pressure pump with accessories (1 unit used for the containers’ cleaning, but also for the industrial cleaning), while creating 11 new green jobs. The estimated long-term impact of the project: • contribution to reducing offshore contamination and to increasing the agricultural use of bioremediated soils; • logistic readiness to supply specific services in offshore Black Sea sites, as exploratory sites revealed the presence of large quantities of oil and gas resources. The project contributed to the company’s long term development strategy: continuing to conduct a business which is both successful and technologically advanced, evolving, adapting, investing and expanding its capabilities to continue providing solutions to the clients and to meet the demands of industry and associated legislation, aiming to “zero waste” concept.
