International cooperation is acknowledged as an important tool for increasing both the quality and relevance of national education. At the same time, there is a lack of funding at both the European and the national level supporting international educational cooperation. To help alleviate this situation, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway have set aside more than €40 million to educational cooperation with 11 of the beneficiary countries of the Grants. Of this, €1.9 million have been allocated to the Slovakian scholarship programme, under which a new call for proposals programme is now open for applications. In addition to help boost knowledge exchange and cooperation within the field of education, the supported projects will also strengthen the bilateral relations between Slovakia and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
