Summary of project results

The main project need was the loss of the national cultural heritage, by the degradation of the late Renaissance, Baroque and neoclassical architectural elements discovered in the Castle of Micloşoara. The project „Heritage Initiative - Museum of Transylvanian Life” has at its core the restoration and sustainable reclaiming of a very important heritage site situated in the village of Micloșoara (Covasna county), and brings cultural, social and economic solutions to a series of challenges of the local community and the entire region. All of project’s objectives were achieved 100%. The long term goal of the project was to continue the exploitation and preservation of the Castle in order to form a self-sustaining touristic and cultural ecosystem in the region. The specific objectives of the project were achieved as follows: - The level of conservation of the heritage monuments in the region has been elevated, via the restoration and conservation of the Kalnoky Castle from Miclosoara, Covasna county. - Creation of a new cultural, social and educational venue, by achieving the indicator „Number of museums and/or cultural spaces created/developed” during Activity 2. Creating the Museum of Transylvanian Life through organizing the heritage restoration summer school in Miclosoara. - The promotion of multicultural values from the region has grown, via the 3 training sessions organized, with respective focus on entrepreneurship, cultural guiding and tourist guiding. By restoring the Kalnoky Castle, building the Museum of Transylvanian Life and promoting the entrepreneurial spirit, the project contributed to reducing the migration of the local people.
